Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Ferrando Racing Club (FRC) will lease and race 12 first crop Ferrando 2yo thoroughbred horses – 6 colts and 6 fillies, sired by Ferrando for the 2023/2024 racing season.

  • FRC will have 50 shares - each available to individuals, couples or a syndicate. There is no restriction on the number of shares which a member can own.

  • The cost of each share is $10,000 NZD for the 2023/2024 racing season with options to renew for a 2nd and 3rd racing season at the same cost per share.

    There will be no other costs for FRC Members for each racing season.

    Graeme Rogerson will not charge the Club any management fees but will be entitled to charge his published training fees and expenses for training agisting the FRC racehorses.

  • All prizemoney will be distributed to FRC Members pro rata quarterly.

    If a FRC racehorse is sold during the Lease term the Club will receive 50% of the net sale proceeds.

  • Ferrando was an exceptionally fast Group winning sprinter who ran 1:06:96 in the G1 Telegraph 1200m ( nose 2nd to Enzo’s Lad) and 1:07:73 in winning the Listed Lightning 1200m beating Heroic Valour.

  • Ferrando will stand at Gerry Harvey’s Westbury Stud in Karaka during 2023–20224.

  • New Zealand Hall of Fame trainer Graeme Rogerson will manage the Club and train its racehorses.

  • If a FRC racehorse dies, is retired due to injury, or is sold during the lease, the Manager will use his best endeavours to replace it with another Ferrando-sired racehorse at no extra cost.
